On June 28, the commencement ceremony of the main works of Fangda Group Dagang relocation and upgrading project was held at the coking project site of Dazhou Eastern Economic Development Zone. Leaders of Sichuan Provincial Party committee and government and relevant provincial departments, Dazhou city leaders and relevant municipal departments, district and county leaders, and leaders of Fangda group all attended the event. Wei Xinmin, chairman of the board of SDM, and Song Zhishun, deputy general manager, leading an SDM team, were invited to attend the commencement ceremony.

Founded in 1958, Sichuan Dazhou Iron and Steel Group has stridden over a journey of more than 60 years with solid steps. It is currently a large industrial enterprise and major profit and tax payer in Dazhou, and has contributed an indispensable force to the high-quality development and leapfrog development of the local economy. In the context of the transformation of national old and new kinetic energy, the relocation and upgrading project of Dagang was listed as one of the 100 major promotion projects in Sichuan Province in 2020. After two years of intensive preparations, the coking project, one of the main projects, was officially started in June 2022, marking the formal entry of the project into the construction stage. After the completion of the project, it will become a model of Intelligent Manufacturing in the industry, a model of height difference utilization, the most competitive steel vanadium titanium enterprise and eco-tourism scenic spot.

The coke oven and coal preparation project of Dagang relocation and upgrading project is under the general contract of SDM. The project adopts the international advanced clean and efficient coke oven process technology developed by our company in cooperation with Italian PW company, which has the characteristics of low NOx emission, low coking energy consumption, low furnace top space temperature, tight masonry structure, small amount of equipment maintenance, and high chemical by-product yield. The two coke ovens in the project are new 7.0m top charge coke ovens customized according to the coal blending index, fuel composition, meteorological conditions and floor area of Dagang. They carry the important mission of industrial upgrading, energy conservation, environmental protection, intelligence and efficiency updating of Dagang group. After completion, they will play an important leading role in the coking industry in Sichuan.
