On July 1, the 2# coke oven of the relocation, transformation and upgrading project for coking environmental protection of Yunnan Coal & Energy Co., Ltd, which is EPC contracted by SDM was successfully ignited and heated-up. Wei Xinmin, chairman of the board, Song Zhishun, deputy general manager, and Li Qingsheng, vice president of the company, were invited to lead SDM members to participate in the heating-up ceremony.

The 7.6m top charge coke oven built by Yunnan Coal & Energy Co., Ltd is a super large top charge coke oven jointly developed by SDM and Italian PW company. It adopts a series of advanced technologies such as flame analysis, bracing system analysis, coke oven VAP assembly, SOPRECOreg , riser waste heat utilization, and etc., which provides a strong technical support for the realization of large-scale, green, intelligent and low-carbon coke ovens. With the technical characteristics of the largest single oven volume of coke oven, low environmental emission indicators, low coking energy consumption,  overall cohesiveness of design and long working life, it represents the world's most advanced technology of super large top charge coke oven.

Since the 2# coke oven was started on July 11, 2021,by careful planning, scientific management, working hard with drawings as well as construction as per schedule network, and nevertheless, in the face of abnormal fluctuations in the raw material market, epidemic lockdown  and other disadvantage factors, with the support of Yunnan Coal & Energy Co., Ltd, we have effectively promoted the project construction with the partners of MCC 9, MCC 3 and Taizhong in accordance with the requirements of ensuring safety, quality and progress. A total of 74000 cubic meters of concrete pouring, 16000 tons of equipment installation and 73000 tons of refractory construction have been completed. The on-site builders have experienced adverse factors such as difficult construction in the rainy season and poor logistics during the epidemic, we worked hard in day and night for the smooth progress of the project and ushered in the project stage victory.

The refractory masonry of 1# coke oven of the project officially began on February 21, and lasted for 120 days. The masonry of the second main body of the 7.6m top charge coke oven with the largest single oven volume in China was completed, and the main body was successfully capped on June 20.

At 8:25 a.m. on June 23, the 200m chimney of the project was successfully ignited. This chimney is the highest 200m coke oven chimney in China. Its completion and operation is a landmark set up by SDM in the southwest of our motherland, marking the successful completion of the first step of oven heating-up in the 2MTPA coking project of Yunnan Coal & Energy Co., Ltd, and the commissioning into the countdown stage.

The ignition ceremony for 2# coke oven heating-up of Yunnan Coal & Energy Co., Ltd sounded the storm call of 9.30 production. In the next construction, all personnel of the project department will further strengthen the awareness of the overall situation and the spirit of responsibility, carry forward the engineering construction tradition of "Especially able to endure, especially able to fight, and especially able to win", practice the concept of "all for the user", implement responsibilities at all levels, mobilize all advantageous resources, overcome all difficulties，and do our best to work with the construction units and equipment manufacturers to forge ahead, and set off another upsurge of project construction, so as to ensure that the coke oven project is completed and put into operation on schedule.
