2021 is about to enter June, it has been nearly 21 months since 1#3800m3 blast furnace has started construction, which has met the contract duration requirements. At present, the blast furnace project has entered the final sprint stage. In order to overcome the current difficulties, organize the follow-up work, and achieve the set goals, on May 27, 2021, the third high-level coordination meeting for the new and old kinetic energy conversion project of Shandong Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. Laiwu Branch new 2×3800m3 blast furnace and its supporting auxiliary facilities construction project EPC general contract was held in the conference room of the main control building of the blast furnace.

Shangang Laiwu Branch New and Old Kinetic Energy Project Construction Headquarters Tian Qingyuan, Engineering Management Office Xue Kaijian, Energy Power Plant Yin Jihui, Planning and Development Department Wang Qinghui, Blast Furnace Project Department Ji Guanggang, Three Controls Supervisor Wang Zhanhui, SDM secretary of the party committee  Gu Zhuoqi, as well as concerned leaders from general construction contractor 20th MCC, China 19th MCC, Laiwu Jianan, Hebei Shengan, and concerned personnel of SDM Blast Furnace Project Department attended the meeting.

First of all, the construction manager of the SDM Laiwu Steel Blast Furnace Project Department conducted a review of the on-site project progress since the last high-level meeting in terms of construction safety, quality, supply of design drawings, equipment procurement, on-site progress, epidemic prevention and control, and wages of migrant workers. Summarize and report in detail, and put forward the current problems that urgently need to be resolved by the owners and the senior management of each participating unit.

All construction participating units report on the current work arrangements and the measures to be taken to complete the objectives. The leaders of each unit participated in the meeting to supplement and express their opinions. The three control supervisors put forward specific requirements and suggestions for the on-site work, and the leaders of the relevant project department of the owner proceeded Comment to speak.

Gu Zhuoqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of SDM, emphasized that the construction of the project has entered the sprint stage, On-site equipment problems, design problems, construction management problems, safety problems, schedule problems, and the loss of construction unit personnel have been exposed in a concentrated manner. The problems are not terrible. All parties involved in the construction must actively, rationally and optimize the construction period under the conditions of ensuring construction safety, environmental protection safety, epidemic prevention safety, and safe payment of migrant workers’ wages, face problems squarely, clarify goals, and work together to find ways to accelerate the progress of the project during the equipment installation stage. Unswervingly complete the project construction goals assigned by the owner.

Tian Qingyuan, deputy commander of the new and old kinetic energy headquarters, made a summary and commented and asked all participating units to unify their thinking and work together for the common goal to ensure that the blast furnace is heated and started at the timeline.
